Can around-the-neck negative ion generators be legally taken aboard airliners as carry-on items?
I will soon be on a six-hour flight to Europe, and I have found a portable negative-ion generator to be very useful in preventing respiratory infections that come from long flights on airliners with their not-very-clean air. However, I don't want to take a negative ion generator if it's going to be seized by the TSA when I go through security. Thanks.

I don’t think they are prohibited in your luggage but all the airlines I’ve traveled with prohibit using them on board. If you are worried about catching something it is much better to strengthen your immune system before you leave. Get plenty of sleep, eat balance meals and research natural alternatives that will stimulate your immune system (mushrooms, vitamin D3, andographis, and Air-borne all help). Drink some lemon juice and water before you leave to help with the vitamin C and bi-flavonoids.
