Briggs Generator Problems?

I have a briggs and stratton portable generator and inside of the motor( where it produces electricity) there are sparks while running. i dont know if this is a problem or if it is from some rust or something on the armature and is hitting the brushes or if it is normal.

    not normal, you should probably take it apart and see you may just need to clean it up and use some sand paper or what ever to clean it up or, you may need to replace parts, its hard to tell you with out seeing it or having more information

    if your brushes are sparking then they need replaced.
